On November 25, 1997, Earl and Terry Robertson, both 49, were found brutally slaughtered inside their home in Rock Hill, North Carolina. They were family people, church-going and law-abiding. Yet someone had wanted them dead - badly enough to cut Terry's throat and crush Earl's skull with a claw hammer.
and I am from SC! I had never heard of the case. I didn't find the book repetitive or dry at all, but being from the lowcountry I don't remember any newspaper articles about the case. I could not put the book down, I am always fascinated by murders in the family. I would recommend it to people who DON'T know anything about the case, because those people (like me) won't complain. It is very well written.
Shattering

I hadn't heard of this case, but the book moves right along at a good pace telling about this terrible murder. The author is very good at the details and at keeping the story moving. I read in in two nights because I really wanted to see what was going to happen next. Terribly sad for all concerned!
