Definitely Worth Buying and All You Need

I used this book to prepare for the Board Exam this year (2006) and found it to be exremely helpful, not only to pass the exam but also as a means of obtaining some really useful information for clinical practice. For instance, it provided a terrific approach to evaluating a patient with kidney stone disease. It really clarified the type of workup one should do and the various medical options for preventing a recurrence, something I had yet to see presented effectively. It was also funny at times and I would encourage the editors to include more humor. The only criticism I have is that it sometimes reviewed topics that are too specialized for family doctors and what we need to know both for the exam and for our practice. Some questions that are asked would be ones that only a subspecialist would/should know.

Excellent

This board review book is excellent. It not only helped me with the boards but gave information useful in clinical practice. This question book was also interesting to read. Usually I read half a question book or less and give up out of sheer boredom. Who would have thought a board review book could actually be intersting?

Excellent Review Book!

This is an excellent review book! I have read many board review books for my recent family practice board recertification. This book is the best although it is a first edition. It uses problem oriented approach and it teaches you along the way. It is well organized and covers all the systems in Family Practice. The answer and explanation follow the question immediately which is brilliant! I retain more facts and I really enjoy reading this review. (I usually fall asleep reading text book) It may take about 10 days to read the book throughly but it does worth it.

Uncommonly good!

Comprehensive, well organized, thoughtfully edited. I've been recommending this book to all my colleagues as they approach their boards. I've used several other review texts, but this one stands out. 5 stars.

Family Practice Examination and Board Review

Excellent review book. I can say without doubt that this book was very helpful to me and is a must for anyone who wants to pass/do well in the boards. A lot of questions/topics that was dealt with in this book actually was also covered in some form or other in this most recent exam of Dec. 3 2004. My advise is to go over this book tooth and nail, over and over and over again and then use a general review text such as the blue prints and you should be alright.
