Michael Patterson was born into your average, middle-class, nuclear family. They lived in desirable area of Long Island, New York, seemingly a world away from the gangs and crime of the inner-city. His parents loved and supported him and there was never any physical abuse in the household. But it is here, beneath the Brady Bunch-like fa ade of suburbia that lays the true ground zero of the never-ending, pandemic known as drugs. Now age 24, Mike is being released from prison, where he spent the past five years on drug-related charges. He is now ready to put the past behind him and start anew.
