Gets beneath the powerful action to the soul

Here's an action book in which the actors have souls. They wonder about the word, honor, just as Falstaff did in Henry IV, part I. They know they must fight our their bloody action scenes, if not for honor, then for each other.You don't find such grown up themes in books like this. I was swept up in the angst of each character who brought their personal battles into combat.Nice job, James. I've already gone back to buy the first four books in the series. I want to see how these complex characters evolved to where they are.
