Charles, a molecular scientist, discovered a method to modify the voice box of vertebrates so they can articulate human speech. He is pursued by Biotech to license his invention, but Charles has ethical doubts. The Vatican objects to such genetic manipulations and make a counter-offer, so that Charles would give away his invention. His girlfriend accompanies him to a trip to Bavaria and Rome where they meet with Vatican officials. Charles is also pressured from his ex-wife to make the deal the Biotech Company, so she gets half of the money. Eventually transgenic monkeys are crated in a Cuban lab.
