Few of Her Secrets

A Few of Her Secrets is a new collection of high-spirited and adroit verse by acclaimed American poet George Bradley.

These poems aim to entertain in the best sense of the word, ranging widely in subject and in tone, and spanning the landscapes and sensibilities of New England, Tuscany and Lake Geneva. The book includes amused and occasionally caustic observations on America s culture wars ; enthusiastic and witty renderings of Italian food recipes; and heartfelt yet unsentimental meditations occasioned by the deaths of relatives.

George Bradley was born in 1953 in Roslyn, NY. His first book of verse, Terms to Be Met, was selected by James Merrill for the Yale Younger Poets Prize in 1985. His work has also been published in, among others, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Poetry, American Poetry Review, The Yale Review, Verse and Standpoint. His many awards include the Witter Bynner Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and the Peter I.B. Lavan Award from The Academy of American Poets. He has read his poetry at many venues, including the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., the 92nd St. Y in New York City, and the Lannan Foundation. He now lives in Chester, Connecticut.
