Well-known scholar and author, John F. Walvoord offers a detailed and fascinating explanation of how specific events in the late 1980s and early 1990s relate to biblical prophecy. A great foundational book for understanding end-times passages and the future of the church, Israel, Satan, and the world.

Walvoord describes his own purpose thus: "This work attempts to state succinctly the major elements that relate to the prophetic future. The outline of future events provided here forms a fitting platform on which to explore in-depth the Bible's detailed prophecies...This work is offered in the hope of providing a clearer picture of the future for those who were confused by previous studies." Walvoord meets his purpose well. In the subsequent 14 chapters, he covers everything from "interpreting correctly" (p.6); Jesus Christ (p.21); the covenants (p.33); Gentiles (p.51); Satan and his angels (p.62); Israel (p.70); the Church (p.88); the intermediate state (p.104); the Rapture (p.109); The Great Tribulation (p.118); The Second Coming (p.132); The Millennium (p.139); the Resurrections and the Final Judgment (p.156); and ending with the Eternal State (p.167) A three page subject index and five page Scripture index conclude the book. A good overview for those wanting an introduction to the topic: seminarians, bible college students and laypeople will all benefit from this book.
