Book Overview

THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER WINNER OF THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL THRILLER WRITERS AWARD FOR BEST HARDCOVER NOVEL "The first great thriller of 2017 is here: Final Girls , by Riley Sager. If you liked Gone Girl , you'll like this."--Stephen King Ten years ago, college student Quincy Carpenter went on vacation with five friends and came back alone, the only survivor of a horror movie-scale massacre. In an instant, she became a member of a club no one wants to belong to--a group of similar survivors known in the press as the Final Girls: Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who went up against the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape Pine Cottage and the man she refers to only as Him. The three girls are all attempting to put their nightmares behind them and, with that, one another. Despite the media's attempts, they never meet. Now, Quincy is doing well--maybe even great, thanks to her Xanax prescription. She has a caring almost-fianc , Jeff; a popular baking blog; a beautiful apartment; and a therapeutic presence in Coop, the police officer who saved her life all those years ago. Her memory won't even allow her to recall the events of that night; the past is in the past. That is until Lisa, the first Final Girl, is found dead in her bathtub, wrists slit; and Sam, the second Final Girl, appears on Quincy's doorstep. Blowing through Quincy's life like a whirlwind, Sam seems intent on making Quincy relive the past, with increasingly dire consequences, all of which makes Quincy question why Sam is really seeking her out. And when new details about Lisa's death come to light, Quincy's life becomes a race against time as she tries to unravel Sam's truths from her lies, evade the police and hungry reporters, and, most crucially, remember what really happened at Pine Cottage, before what was started ten years ago is finished.

Booooo. Scam reviews.

Anyone that says this books is horrifying or riveting has never read great authors or real thrillers or horror. Cliche garbage as in I’ve read or seen it all before. Saw the killer after 30 pages. People must be brain dead to say they love the plot twists and turns. It’s actually funny to me. Try the Unsub series by Meg Gardiner, 4MK trilogy by Barker or Stephen Graham Jones. King, Clive, McCammon or Matheson are can’t miss authors as well.

Suspenseful

I loved the dynamic characters and how they differed form the others. I also loved how enthralled I was in the book that I actually got mad about the decisions of said characters. Being this engulfed in a book is what I love about reading! I also loved The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

Loved this book

I wouldnt say this book was scary, but it was such a good one to read. I enjoyed the characters, the plot twists, the lies.. all of it. You guess one way to end up guessing another. Such a fun read!

Eerily good!

Mysterious. Marvelous. Must read. Two timelines seamlessly intertwined and you will thoroughly enjoy the ride.

Loved this book.

I couldn't put this book down as always with Riley sagers books definitely took a turn at the end and was not expecting the ending, worth the read.

Good story line and twists but probably didn’t need to be that long.

I enjoyed this book and the genera storyline. The first quarter of the book dragged a bit. Setting the scene but there were also some elements that I believe didn’t need to be in there. Push through it and you will enjoy it!

I didn't see that coming!

Very well written. Thrilling and mysterious. I'm usually pretty good at accurately predicting who the killer is but this one surprised me. Definitely worth a read.

A refreshing thriller that blends elements of slasher films

I don’t typically read thrillers but this seemed very original, and I was not disappointed. I resonated with the main character and the plot kept me up all night just to see what happens.

Great thriller!

What happens after you are the lone survivor of something horrific? The type of thing that few others can relate to? Read this amazing story about survivors when the past isn’t finished with them.

Riley Sager is my hero!!!

This is the first book by Riley Sager and he did it big! I absolutely loved this one. If you want suspense choose this. You will not be disappointed.

Kept my attention!

I loved this book! It kept my attention the whole time! Love the twists!

Mind blown!!

Never suspected how the story would end! Finished it in one day! Had to know what on earth happened

One of my favorite writers

This book has some interesting turns in the mystery. I thought some parts to be scary and can shake your core. This author also wrote The Last Time I Lied.

Think slasher flick in book form.

Deep relatable character's and well written. Fast paced and creepy.

Grady Hendrix's newest novel, The Final Girl Support Group has been hitting all the bestseller lists and it's easy to see why! The horror thriller inspired by 1970s and '80s slasher films is certainly a page-turner. Described as having a style that is "equal part tender and terrifying," Hendrix is certainly one to watch.
