Excellent reference, clearly written, NO humor a plus

Though I am in my fifties, I am new to business statements having never had to be involved with them in my career. Now I am interested in making intelligent investments and need to understand not only the bottom line but all those other lines as well. This book is concise, uses many examples, clearly defines terms and goes into the reasoning that determines how information is presented in business statements. You will be able to understand as well the ratios that appear in analyst reports such as those put out by Standard and Poor's. Wonderfully free of the attempts to be funny that pollute so many texts these days, no words are wasted. This work should be on the bookshelf of anyone involved with business.
