Thorough for all education and LIFE, well-beyond fire service

This goes into true pedagogy and andragogy... all of the science and art of teaching. Not what I was expecting-- MUCH BETTER! I thought it would be just a bunch of fire training stuff (not that that is bad), but this is just as good IF NOT BETTER than many of my textbooks from my Masters in Education. A bit dry and drawn out at times, but it does a very good job breaking down lists, subtypes, categories, etc. Terminology is often confusing (Learning Domain, Learning Theory, Learning Style.... ethics, virtue, moral.... ) and can seem repetitive, but that is the nature of the field, not the author's fault. Good examples, good practical application. Wish our state used this book for certification! It does so much more than just teach about fire; it has great application for understanding people in any organization, whether you are a member, supervisor, or administrator.
IFSTA Instructor Manual Review

Overall, this is a good, thorough, and well written manual. The pictures and study aids are valuable to the material covered. The book is a bit "wordy" at times and seems to repeat certain sections multiple times causing it to seem unnecessarily long. I would recommend this book to anyone pursuing certification as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor.
