First off, this is a Richard Scarry book, so your child is definitely going to love it. Plus it's about fire engines, so it's everything a busy little reader could want!

As many who have read my reviews know, my husband and I spend half the year in the Caribbean, living on our sailboat "Tara." For the last month we have had my two lovely nieces on board and they are young readers, ages two and three. As readers, they came with heaps of books and I spend hours with them, reading, pointing to the pictures, asking them what they see and let me tell you, there is miles of difference between two and three, but both are fun.This book, "The Firefighter's Busy Day," is one of their favorites. They just love the story of how firefighter piggies Snozzle, Smokey, Sparky and Squirty are always running to the rescue of Mr. Frumble and his Pickle car. Usually I don't spoil the ending in a review, but here I believe it's okay to say that the girls really get a kick out of Mr. Frumble winding up with the firefighter's dinner. my son's favorite!

This book is full of vehicles, real and imaginary, my son loves anything that goes! Mr. Frumble's many accidents always makes us both laugh. The action always makes him excited too. I'm not a good writer, all I can say is my son's first exclamation was from this book "oh dear". I've read it so many times now that he and I both have memorized it!

An entertaining account of Busytown's four firefighters. The firefighting pigs save the town from the dangers of fire (and in some cases from themselves). Filled with Scary's action-packed, humorous drawings. A very fun book.
