Incredible book. The authors have brought the game classic game development environment on the flash platform.Os probably the most complex book on flash games, but it' a must to have on your developer shelf!

I like this book alot. I have worked through a slew of books onflash since Flash 4, and this one makes the most sense to me from the mechanics of game programming POV. Organized, and to the point. Don't make this the first book you read on Flash,cause you will be in over your head. It focuses just on the advanced engineering of game relating to Flash.

As friends of ED have a positive reputation for their books I didn't have to decide too long to buy this one. And indeed, it lived up to my expectations.It starts with the very essential questions like which kind of game you would like to develop and all that comes along, like the rules of the game, using 3D or not, actionscripting, interactive sounds etc.Personally I thought the 3D part was most useful to me but I can assure yoy you will discover and learn more each time you start reading it again.So even my own journey is far from over yet.The great thing about the way it is written is the fact it gets you trying and practicing and I believe that's the best way to learn things.As you might have seen on the ...site, the printed index in the book is incorrect. This made me hesitate a little bit but after downloading it, it isn't that inconvienient and confusing after all.All in all I believe this book is a must have for all who want to develop a Flash game.

This book will give the reader many ideas for making and presenting Flash games. You will need some prior Flash experience before jumping into this book, but it will provide you with some additional ideas that you may never have thought of, as we as giving you tips on creating that 3-D look in your Flash Games. I would highly recommend as well for additional ways to present information in a highly interactive way.I have always found `Friends of Ed' books easy to read and follow, and have purchased almost the whole series. Many people went into the making of these books, and the ideas that are presented are easy to read and follow.
