Cyril Bartholomew isn't exactly everyone's idea of a dream date. Not that he gets pushed around or anything, but it does cause him to keep one very important secret from everyone: He loves to cook.... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I took this book out of the library but realize if I had boughten it I would not have been disappointed. I devoured this book in about an hour and a half and loved every minute of it. It's a short quick read but also very satisfying. I couldn't put it down! Even though there are recipes separating the chapters each chapter flows very well together and no details are left hanging. The ending is somewhat predictable but I wouldn't have had it any other way. This would be a good book for anyone who likes to cook or is a romantic at heart. :)
Great Book

This was a really good book that kept me interested until the very end. It is definitely a good choice if you're fed up with predictable teen novels. It is romantic, funny, and almost everyone can identify with at least one of the characters! My friends all read it, too, and they loved it. The recipes are also really good, too. They are easy and original. I think that any teenage girl would love to read this book.
Wow! An absolutely wonderful read

This is one of the best, most endearing and uplifting books I have read in years! Even though I am an adult (and this is geared at pre-teens) -- it is so well written and unique that I couldn't put it down. I read the entire thing on one plane ride... and now can't wait to try the recipes. The characters are spectacular... and the story is charming, thought-provoking... and just plain fun! Try it... you'll LOVE it.
This is the most original book I ever read.

I just finished Flavor of the Week and it's the most unique book I ever read. I read it in two sittings. It's about this guy Cyril who has a crush on this girl Rose, but he's kinda chubby so he doesn't think he has a chance with her. His friend Nick also has a crush on her and Cyril helps Nick out by cooking and letting Nick take the credit for the food. Rose thinks she's falling for Nick, but really she's falling for Cyril's cooking. The book's really funny. The only bad part is that it made me want to everything in sight. It has recipes too, which my friend tried and said were awesome.
Cute Love Story with Recipes

This is the most clever book I've seen this year. It's about a teenager in upstate New York who is an incredible cook, and how his amazing talent gets him in trouble with the girl he's in love with. It's really funny and even made me cry a little at the end ...Plus it's got recipes after each chapter which made me SO hungry. I am in love with Cyril! I feel like I know him. When you're reading this book you can easily picture the movie. You have to get this book! It's so worth it...especially with all the recipes!!...
