Flying high in the skies, Brian Finke began photographing flight attendants as he criscrossed America on all the major US airlines. In London he visited a flight attendant school complete with emergency rafts and billowing smoke. Continuing East, Finke travelled on Air Asia, Thai Airways, Tiger and Cathay Pacific. For his grand finale Finke flew on the illustrious Icelandair. The result of all this time in the sky is this vibrant photographic documentation of the people who chose to work at 40,000 feet in the air.

Loved it so much, bought a second to cut up for wall-art...

Loved this book, I'm in the airline industry and it brings the "new" reality of flying with the lost mystique. I also saw the Tribeca exhibition of this book and I wish I could have afforded one of the poster-sized prints; instead, I bought a second copy and framed my favorite shots. A nice addition if you are an airline buff or just need to be reminded that there is still something called "class" in the commercial airline world today.
