Charming and clever

A non-parent (so far), I was delighted with this book (a present from a colleague who is a cat-lover with a discerning eye for illustrated children's books). I look forward to reading it over and over again with my own child, if I'm so blessed. My only caveat concerns the author's reference to "the grueling torments of childbirth"-I'm not sure I'd want to undertake an explanation of this with a very young child!
