She promised Hugh and his intrusion a safe harbor in her yard. She made bee-hotels, wrote petitions, made YouTube videos with her brother and her friends, and discovered a natural fertilizer; an alternative to the poison being sold. In the meantime, attracted by her passion and selflessness, Heath, Avery's best friend, becomes Lily's first boyfriend. Moments of humor come when Heath's grandma enters the picture.
