This fourth edition of Food & Wine magazine's annual guide to choosing wines and pairing wine with food comes with an easy-to-use and service-oriented format, with icons, indices, brief descriptions, pricing information, and short commentary on quality and value.
alice feiring has done magic with this wine guide, turning it into a useful and lively source of wine info. prior editions were a bit stilted, to say the least, but this one really loosens up. wine descriptions are on target and shed a lot of the hackneyed 'tells me nothing' wine vocabulary, instead opting for fresh descriptions that make your palate tingle. especially appreciated is the expanded treatment of italian wines-- the book needs even more of this. keep up the good work.
