I purchased this book for my husband who shoots a Ruger #1 45-70. He knows most of what there is out there about this caliber. He was amazed at the detail in this book, and the complete thoroughness. He has learned several new things, he hadn't previously known. He finds this book very interseting and hard to put down. He is thrilled with this find!

Centered mostly around the Ruger #1 & #3 rifles in .45-70 The author lists his experiences in loading, shooting and hunting with the caliber. Excellent history of his research and what worked and didn't work for him. This book can save a shooter countless hours in working up loads for targets or hunting. He has also written an excellent book on paper-patched bullets entitled "The Paper Jacket"
