A good place to start C++.

If youre new and want to learn C++, this is the book to choose. It teaches all the fundamentals of C++ without going through implementation details, like Visual C++. But be aware that though it covers the Standard Template Library, it only does so in passing. Recommended reading for those who have forgotten how good C++ a language is.

Very pleased with the purchase of this book. Treats each aspect of C++ and necessary C background information in sufficient detail to make clear to the most novice programmer. I particularly liked the CD that came with the book; it has the full text of the book; source code doesn't clutter the page - instead, you click on hyper text link to show seperate window of source code.
