Copyright 1975, Plummer's book showcases natural recipes for everything that is so "chic" these days: homemade soaps, baths, colognes, incense, powders, waters, insect repellants, etc. Great as a recipe reference and for lovers of antique books. Illustrated, with a glossary. The short source list, while obviously obsolete, shows how long it has taken for us to get with the "natural living" program. Plummer's book dedication is "To our sweet-smelling EARTH - may it survive the foolishness of man." (PS-There are no hazardous ingredients mentioned in this book. Lye is used in making ALL soaps, whether homemade or purchased at the grocery store or even the health food store.)

I found this book interesting, becasue it describes how this field has evolved from where it was to where it is today. I have not tried any of the receipies, bur I found the ideas behind it facinating.
