I would highly recommend this comprehensive remarkable book! I have read many books about children having meltdowns, but this book provided the most straightforward, logical, scientifically proven strategies for both professionals and parents. Dr. Thompson uses scientific evidence to provide clear detailed examples of practical applications of preventing and managing meltdowns, and not just ways to react to the meltdown. I really appreciated all the case examples throughout the entire book. This really made the book seem more like a conversation, and not a textbook.
Accessible, comprehensive, and compassionate

Freedom from Meltdowns is Thompson's third recent book on autism and is as good as the other two -- accessible, comprehensive, and compassionate.
