Delicious, funny and touching, From Here to Maternity is Sin ad Moriarty's final installment of Emma Hamilton's struggles to become a mother.
'Brilliantly eccentric and utterly charming - we love this ' OK Magazine From Here to Maternity tells the story of Emma Hamilton who embarks on the path to adopting a baby when she and her husband can't conceive. Just as Emma Hamilton and her husband James become parents of an eight-month-old Russian baby, Yuri, they find out that Emma is pregnant. Which is a bit of a shock since they had come to terms with not being able to have children. Emma discovers that having her dreams come true brings a whole new set of problems as she is faced with well-meaning friends and family - and not-so-well-meaning maternity Nazis - telling her how to be a mother. Only her wonderful calm long-suffering husband, a mad family that makes her look like the down-to-earth sensible one, and fantastic friends whose lives are even crazier than her own, keep Emma from losing it. 'Enjoyable and endearing' Closer' Moriarty has] an unexpected flair for side-splitting humour and fun' Evening Herald
Babies are like busses. Emma and James have waited ages for one to turn up, then two come together. Not twins - but an adorable Russian tot called Yuri, and an as-yet-unnamed bump already wreaking it's special brand of havoc. Emma and James are overwhelmed by the crying, the crankiness, the fitful sleeping, the fussy feeding - and that's just the new mother . . . On top of that they are juggling the Queen of Interfering Mothers, the brother marrying An Unsuitable Bride, the combustible best friend with a broody husband, and the outrageous sister who'll do anything for fame and fortune. Emma and James are ecstatic at being parents at last but sometimes wish that it was all a bit less . . . frantic!
Not as great as the first two- but a nice conclusion to the trilogy *may contain spoilers*

I enjoyed this book. Not as much as the first two but enjoyed it nonetheless. The only thing i didn't like was the ending. Whilst what happened with the baby- i won't give it away- i felt was appropriate as it fit the whole idea of the road to parenthood being hard, i disliked the final page as i felt it didn't give enough material for what happened next. I would have liked to learn more about how Emma found life with two children or some nice, happy diologue. I felt quite sad when the book ended. I must say i did enjoy the triology and would recommend it, i'm just sad that's it!
