The purpose of From Poverty to Pride is to better assist African American males (young and old) in becoming successful figures in their community. This book covers ten basic steps to take someone from a complacent past to a productive future. The target age population of this book ranges from ages 13 through 40, and was mostly written from the personal experiences of various individuals. Poverty as outlined by this book is "working to achieve nothing", while pride, as noted, is the ability to understand and love thy self to achieve your dreams. With pride, and knowing thy self, one will have the ability to know where they are going and what they expect from life. This book then teaches that Proper, Planning, Promotes, Positive Performance. Through this book, tools are given which allow young men to not only to find themselves but also to find others that are likeminded and can serve as pilots for them to succeed. It is my key objectives to have African American males use this book as their manual to success and a compass to their dreams. If read correctly, this book should take our people, From Poverty to Pride!
