Frommer's Istanbul 2008

My husband and I returned from Istanbul two days ago. This guide is as great as the many other Frommer's guides. My only complaint is that the admission fees to many of the sites suggested are double the listed price in this guide. I was a little surprised given the fact that this book is a recent release. For example, admission to Topkapi Palace is listed as 10 TYL with an additional 10 TYL for entry into the Harem. The actual cost is 20 TYL for admission into the palace and an additional 15 TYL for the Harem which is located near the exit of the palace. By the time, we finished touring the palace the Harem was closed. I was a little disappointed by that. Overall, Istanbul is a fascinating city and this guide helped us explore the many layers of history. Enjoy!
