People with age-related movement limitations or medical conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis can also engage in these exercises. After an aerobic warm-up, Torkelson offers a 60-minute regimen... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Many people have injuries, arthritis, age-related conditions , are way out of shape etc etc that make it harder to exercise. This book makes it easy. It combines stretching w/ minor strength training using small hand weights It has a quick at the office/computer workout as well Depending on the circumstances one could do the workout and watch TV (like my elderly mom) I find it very helpful especially for those who are weaker, elderly, out of shape or have a balance problem etc but an average person can find this both helpful and fun and EASY to do as well. I recommend this book/program. It is exactly what it says and it is a routine I think almost anyone can/will follow even those who despise working out.
Perfect workout for recovery from a long illness

I was looking for a very easy workout to do during my recovery, mainly to keep my muscles from atrophying, and this was just what I needed. I started with the short, 10 minute workouts in the back (though they were included for those who are busy) and each week did a little more until I worked up to being able to use light weights. It was wonderful having exercises I could do from my chair before I was well enough to be up and around. I felt so much better being able to stretch and move without overdoing it. Not all of the exercises in the book can be done while sitting, but most of them can - even a modified version of sit-ups, which is much easier on my back than sit-ups are! It was worth paying a little extra for the spiral-bound version, as it's nice having the book lie flat on the table while I exercise instead of having to hold it open.

I live in a special care home, with 10 other senior citizens. I, though, am 37 years old, but I suffer from a disease that interfers with my mobility. Yhis book does wonders for me, and is a book that the other resident her can us as well! Every month, we have a few excercise routines, and, what I've learned from the book, not only is it useful for me, but also for the other residents here! It's a really, really good book!
busy mom appreciates book

I am a parent of a 2 year old and needless to say I don't have alot of extra time to go to the gym for a work-out. This book allows me to exercise at a time and pace that fits into my daily routine. As most people I feel better when I get some exercise and this book has given me some great ideas on how to do just that. I borrowed this book to my sister who sits alot at her job and she also has seen some benefits, I just wish she'd buy her own copy so I can have my book back!
No more excuses

An excellent book for anyone, regardless of age. The exercises are well thought out and clearly illustrated. Anyone can do them, and they work! People can't make excuses for not exercising any more. The exercises seem especially good for people who are older or for those who are sitting for a good part of their day. I can't believe the author, who is pictured doing the exercises is almost 50! She looks much younger, so I would guess that her routine works.
