Cleared up alot of questions I had regarding layer two technologies. 10mb, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet are explained in detail. Some books I have read skipped some of the material presented in this book. Just my luck it was the very material that was asked on my CCIE written examination. Where was this book two years ago? You guys have it made, all you have to do is know where to look. Back then there was no place to look, except Cisco.I also recommend, "Routing TCP/IP" isbn: 1-57870-041-8, author: Jeff Doyle

I never truly understood all the implementations of 802.X until reading this book. Everything I didn't know is here. MAC, Flow control, 10BaseT, FDDI compared to Gigabit Ethernet vs ATM. This is the kind of book I have been looking for. Guarantee you will understand Layer two technologies 70% better than you did previously. Give this book TWO THUMBS UP!!
Highly recommend book for CCIE written exam

Covers alot of the material I didn't know 100% during the exam. After reading the book and comparing my current knowledge to when I took the beta, I am 100% on ethernet technologies. *I also recommend purchasing Cisco Certification "Bridges, Routers & Switches" Author: Bruce Caslow. For a understanding of bridging and switching. Consider layer two mastered, move on to layers three and four.
