Loved this as a kid

I used to love this book as a kid. The illustrations are great and it is pretty advanced for a "kids" book. It describes each giraffe species, as well as giraffe ancestors. I remember the picture of the okapi in this book - it haunts me to this day and is one of the reasons the okapi has become my favorite animal. It's a shame this book no longer appears in print. If you have a kid who is interested in giraffes, definitely try to find this book.
