This is the second book that I read by Emily, the first one being the "Outcast" the story of Katy's parents. I must admit that I liked the "Outcast" better; however "Gold Dust" has its moments. Emily is proving to be one of my favorite authors, I intent to read more of her work in the future. "Gold Dust" is a good read. It is the story of an adventures Katy and her quest for the gold. Jonah is a reporter from Chicago whose goal is to document the Great Klondike Gold Rush. Amid the hardship and the obstacles they manage to fall in love and form a friendship bond. Their love story is an evolving one. Although I loved the hero, I think that in this book our heroine stole the whole show. I just couldn't get enough of her. She is not a typical 18th century woman; she is a 20th century rebel. I greatly recommend reading "Outcast" first. It will help understating Katy's back ground and building blocks. I liked the role of Gabriel and Olivia in the book. I wish there was an epilogue to this book.
it was a very good book
