Winner of Foreword Magazine 's Book of the Year Award for Best Mystery On assignment in the Middle East, television journalist Cotten Stone stumbles upon an archeological dig that uncovers the world's most-sought-after religious relic: the Holy Grail. With his last dying breath, Dr. Gabriel Archer gives it to Cotten, uttering "You are the only one" in a language she's heard from only one other person--her deceased twin sister. What begins as a hot news story for the ambitious young reporter soon turns into a nightmare when the Holy Grail is stolen and strange "accidents" befall her dearest friends. Running for her life, she turns to John Tyler, a priest with firsthand knowledge of religious artifacts, for help. An anonymous source leads them to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, where an abominable experiment is underway that--unless destroyed--promises to unleash an ancient evil upon the Earth. Praise: "This page-turner is bound to show up on Da Vinci Code read-alike lists at public libraries across the country."-- Library Journal "Religion and science battle through a spectacular hold-your-breath conclusion when the Holy Grail supplies the blood of Christ to the forces of evil."--M. Diane Vogt, author of Six Bills and other Willa Carson Novels " The Grail Conspiracy is an auspicious debut from a dig in the deserts of Iraq to the inner sanctum of the Knights Templar, this multi-layered tale is a gripping blend of modern science, ancient ritual, and page-turning suspense. Next time you face the dark side, you'll want Cotten Stone, this gutsy, intelligent and engaging heroine at your side."--Christine Kling, author of Cross Current and Surface Tension "If you liked The Da Vinci Code , run out and buy this book Modern technology mixed with mythology make for a fast read. This globe-trotting adventure story with biblical undertones will keep you hooked "--Nancy J. Cohen, author of the Bad Hair Day mystery series
This is not Da Vinci. It's not any less than Da Vinci either in it's plot and scope . I have become addicted to these historical/religious thrillers that have a central premise built around the Bible, Christ, the Holy Grail, Knights Templar, Virgin Mary, the possible bloodline of Jesus etc. In this particular novel, the central premise is that the Book of Revelation may be true and that the world could possibly see the second coming of Christ (another novel that also uses the Book of Revelation to great effect is The Rozabal Line). The book starts off in the Iraqi desert where a dying man hands over a box to a news reporter who then manages to smuggle it out of Iraq, authenticate it and then have the "holy grail" delivered to the Vatican only to see it stolen from there. This leads to a raging battle between the good and bad forces, while the dead bodies pile up around the central characters. Given the tremendous fan following of the Da Vinci Code, it is but obvious that several "clones" will flourish. This is not a clone. A great book that keeps you wanting to turn the pages.

What I want to know is when is this going to come out as a movie? It has to be one of the most exciting thrillers I have ever read. I was hooked from the first page on when Cotten Stone (the main character) stumbles onto the dig site with the the Crusader's tomb. The plot (and sub-plots) is tightly woven and the characters fully developed. There are twists and turns and the story roars forward with every word. I could picture every scene and can just imagine what it would be like on the big screen. If this book doesn't get picked up by a motion picture studio, somebody is missing something! And I sure hope there is a sequel.
A great read following the lines of the Da Vinci Code!

This novel was absolutely amazing. It follows in the lines of Dan Brown's novel, but has a different twist so it makes the two novels different. Shoeles is an amazing storyteller with a flair for twists that will keep the reader guessing until the very end of the novel! I highly recommend this novel for anyone who loved the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons!
Dare you to try to stop reading this one once youv'e started.....

What is the record time for reading a book practically straight through? From the beginning to the end, I was there. The characters were "real" people. The action spellbinding. I love a good mystery, a love story, a twist at the end. This was all that and more!!!
