There is nothing like a Greatful Dead concert! Since 1965, there have been over 3,000 Greatful Dead concerts, from the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park to the Gizeh Pyramids. At each of them, someone has... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book for a friend, and I found it good but a little bit silly. (Granted the Grateful Dead is not the most serious subject matter around...) The pictures have this tripped out look that make it look almost like a child's book. It made me laugh but it seemed a bit silly for a book like this. This is an above average book especially for that point in Dead history (1983).
A must have

Being a verteran of many shows, it brought you the flavor of a dead show. Has letters from Heads and great concert pics. I bought this years ago and use it to hold my concert stubs. It is beaten and worn from use. Not informative, but if you ever shed a tear when you heard "To Lay Me Down" then this will bring you back.
An excellent collage of nostalgia of the greatest band ever!

I was shocked when I saw that no one has reviewed this book, yet. This book has various photos and interviews taken at concers and gatherings spanning from the Haight Ashbury days to the early 80s. Also, lots of quotes from the performers were written, about the situations of the various times of their touring. At the end, the COMPLETE tour list from 1961(pre Dead) all the way to 1982, was thouroughly written. That includes the Acid Tests,Woodstock, Monterey Pop, and the venues that they played. This may be oriented to Deadheads themselves, but this is surely a collector's item. Since this book was written in 1982, it may go out of print again at any time. Definately a collector's item!
