Easily the best of the trilogy.

The story is fast paced, and action packed, in a wonderful world of mysticism, brutality, and beauty. The universe Lake has created for the series has a lot of potential for expansion. Hopefully he’ll do more with it, and bring future books more in-line with this one than the two subsequent books.
