Just what I needed!

When my wife brought up the subject of sex selection I was really confused. I found a lot of ocnflicting information on the internet. Then our doctor recommended this book to us. It started with a history of sex selection and then talked about a lot of the low tech methods and why they weren't as effective. It described in detail the process of the high tech mthods and what their success rates were, including some that were perfect! I really appreciated that the book took the time to talk about finances. As a man, I needed to know how it was going to effect my wallet. The good news is that from what we learned, we've been successful with the techniques inside and are quite thrilled with our new baby!

Having no previous experience with sex selection techniques, I found this book to be very helpful. The language used was clear and vivid and allowed full explanations of the different methods of sex selection. After reading this book I feel confident that I have the knowledge to pick the technique that is right for us. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about the sex selection options available.

This book is great because it covers the entire spectrum of sex selection methods available, from the low tech to the high tech. But it really focuses on the most effective scientific methods, unlike "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby," which just focuses on the pseudo-scientific Shettles Method. The Shettles Method is just a timing method, and it only works slightly better than half the time. And when you really want a child of one sex or the other, why take that chance? Especially when there are methods like PGD, which are more expensive but work almost 100% of the time.

I really loved this book! This book provides the technical data one needs when making decisions about sex selection. However, the best part of this book is the emphasis and helpful advice on discussions (the many discussions) one has with family, friends and physicans. Weiss does an excellent job of aiding the reader with talking points for a variety of people the reader might encounter. She also does an excellent job of freeing the reader from thinking that he or she has to talk about it at all or defend it. Weiss reminds the reader that she is control and when you are surrounded by experts and an unlimited supply of medical jargon, it is liberating for someone to remind you of that!

This book is very enlightening regarding the high tech world of sex selection. It is comprehensive, well constructed and easy for even a lay person such as myself to understand. Having read the Shettles Method book referred to in a previous review, I think Weiss's book is far more helpful in navigating the difficult sex selection process and offers more indepth content as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone contemplating sex selection for their next pregnancy.
