An Excellent Concise Guide.

"A Guide to the Saints" is well organized and provides a concise and pithy summary of the key aspects of the lives of over 300 saints.The reader does not have to be religious to use and enjoy this book. It is very helpful in understanding and appreciating art and history - to learn who the saints are that appear in so many paintings and books, and what they did. Also, people who are interested in the derivation of their names can - in many cases - trace them back to a saint. In a number of countries, it is obligatory to give a child a saint's name.
