The Forensic Files subset examines the forensic sciences behind the most fascinating solved and unsolved cases, from autopsies to facial reconstruction, and more.
This book provides engaging and well-told examples of how DNA evidence has been used to solve real crimes. Its explanation of the scientific concepts is clear and well-written. However, I'd caution that this is definitely not a book for young children. Two of the cases discussed involve violent crimes, and though the science is solid and the writing tactful, murder is murder and it's a bit scary. Before putting it out on the floor of our museum as part of an exhibit on DNA, I put a warning label on the front.
