Good story & non-fiction combination

As the series title indicates, this book is half fiction and half non-fiction. The first half of the book consists of a 3 chapter story about with 2 Cro-Magnon children as the main characters. The stories include hunting, cave painting, and the taming of a dog. Of course, the details of the story could be criticized and argued about. No one really thinks the first dog was tamed like this. But the stories are a friendly way to introduce children to early humans. That we don't know how these things really happen or that there are a number of theories can be discussed in connection with the second half of the book. The second half of the book is non-fiction about the Cro-Magnon people. At the end is an art activity. The entire book is heavily illustrated on heavy glossy paper. My only complaint is that this isn't a whole history series. There is one other history Half and Half book on ancient Egypt. I would like to see the timeline of history covered with these books.
