Difficult to find a book on preop assessment. this one does a very good job. It's a bit dated, but still very informative. I gave it to my preop nurse to read and look up things when she wondered whether she should or should not do an EKG or lab. Many times, she can make a decision without having to call me and wait for me to return call. Very helpful book. We use it every day in our preop clinic now, with some modifications.

This compact book will be an excellent portable reference for clinicians, especially anesthesia providers, preparing patients for surgery. I've carried a copy with me daily for the last several weeks to help respond to questions from patients, nurses, and surgeons regarding preoperative preparation. The book has not only provided reasoned answers but is also serving to identify improvement opportunities for our preanesthesia protocols. The chapters covering medication management and benefits of preanesthesia clinics have been particularly helpful thus far.

I'm a physician. Actually I'm a resident in anesthesiology. I found this book concise, helpfull and updated. Maybe the words'size could be bigger than size used. But the format is very portable. Major drawback so far

I have only read 2 chapters so far. It seems to have very good information. The major drawback is the font size. The tables are in micro print. I need magnification to see them in any light. The main text needs good lighting. It probably wouldn't matter if you are far sighted and under 30 years old.
