Find Your Inner Princess and Live Happily Ever AfterDon't let anyone tell you true love is a fairy tale. You can find the romance of your dreams, and this book will tell you how.In Happily Ever After, author Wendy Paris offers a contemporary spin on ten classic fairy tales, going behind the scenes with these legendary romantic heroines to show what they did to live happily ever after. Contrary to popular belief, fairy-tale heroines are not weak and passive. They are noble, brave, optimistic women who know that the formula for success in a chaotic world is to hold fast to their own beliefs despite what fate happens to throw their way. Ultimately, it is their character that saves them, not the prince on the white horse.Take Cinderella, for example. Despite having a less than ideal job, she didn't let bitterness and regret give her an ulcer, bad skin, and frown wrinkles. She knew "cinder maid" was a job title, not a life description. She didn't hide in her carriage, crying, "I can't go to the ball by myself Everyone will think I'm a loser " She had the courage to attend a party alone. At the stroke of midnight, she didn't cling to the prince's hand and wail, "Save me from my miserable life " She had the confidence to know that if he liked her, he'd come calling. This humorous, heartfelt book shows women how to focus on their strengths and character rather than resort to manipulative strategies to "land" a man. The perfect antidote to negative dating guides that just don't work, Happily Ever After offers practical, empowering advice that's been proven effective for the last 500 years and is still relevant today.
This book while seemingly light-hearted, manages to touch upon many serious modern philosophical topics. As a professor of philosophy, I am considering using this book as text, in an attempt to relate difficult intellectual thought to a new generation less likely to easily access such concepts
It's a guide for dating and a guide for life

Wendy Paris is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. As far as her latest work, Happily Ever After, I say bravo! It's fun, it's witty, and it's thoughtful. Love the way she updates classic fairy tales for 21st century readers. Once you get started, you can't put this book down. Each chapter is empowering with memorable messages. Can't wait for more from this author.
Extremely Imaginative... A Breath of Fresh Air!

After the many turmoils of life, I have started the whole resentment of fairy-tales a while back. How dare they teach kids about handsome princes and happily ever after when it's not true in real life? Well, Wendy Paris's new perspective on the parallel of fairy-tales and reality is not only insightful, but very useful. It's like we know the morals of fables when we're kids, but we just don't apply them to life anymore because we're all grown up. This cute little pink book is a must have for the romantics at heart who never really gave up on fairy tales completely.
Happy after reading this!

Once in a while a book provides humorous perspective that leads to profound introspection. This book accomplishes such a feat effortlessly. A surprising page-turner that pokes fun of both classic fairytales and cliche notions of what creates a successful relationship. If once upon a time you ever wished for lasting romance, I highly recommend this read.
A great gift and a fun read

I saw this book and was drawn to it by the title and jacket, as I was looking for a good gift for a girlfriend who just got engaged. I looked through it and it was adorable so I bought it and on the way home I really started to read it. Then I couldn't put it down 'till I'd read the whole thing! It's very clever and cute, but at its core, is full of good, inspiration advice on how to be yourself, and be a good person, in order to attract and keep a partner. I ususally hate those dating and relationship advice books because they're all about playing games and being someone who's not you, but in the end, you can only be who you are. This book helps you see how to be your best self and that can't help but attract people to you. And how to behave in a relationship in a way that is dignified, for both people. It's a great gift, but now I want one of my own to keep. I will re-read it when I need perspective on love--and life!
