Good book for children learning Chinese

This is the so-far the best Chinese learning series I found, as a teacher, I found it's interesting, well-structured and help building up confidence for reading characters. In book 1 & 2, there are pinyin everywhere; in book 3, some exercises are without pinyin, so it helps my students recognizing those characters.
Great textbook to start your children with Chinese

Pros: Easy, clear material for children with no Chinese background to learn Chinese. Units are well organized. Materials are relevant. Cons: Pinyin everywhere, even in level 2 book (I have not seen the level 3 yet). It became a problem since students want to be able to read the characters without pinyin to improve their recognition skills. Designed for middle school students to start. Designed for English speaking middle school students from England. Many references are English specific. For American children, these may not make sense. For example, one of the questions involves a map of Scotland. American kids may not recognize the map easily. Overall: Still a much better product than many out there. The design seems a little too much, but that seems to be the general trend in China.
