Have Faith: Sustaining the Spirit for Confirmation and Beyond: A Candidate and Sponsor Resource

I very much appreciate the approach and the content of this new resource for Confirmation preparation. It was written for older teenagers and their adult sponsors preparing for the sacrament as a way for them to connect to their own spiritual journey, their identity as a Catholic Christian, and how they live their faith in Jesus Christ in the world today and in the future. It gives them the tools (in a workbook/journal form) to explore these dimensions of faith and also a plan for conversations between the candidate and his/her sponsor. I like very much how the book speaks specifically to a teenager's sensibilities, knowledge, and experience in a way that values and respects them. (BONUS: They are directed to a website to listen to music that expands on each theme!) The book also reaches the adult sponsor in a profound way because it gives them the opportunity to take an inventory of their spiritual life, check their knowledge of the faith, and take seriously their path of discipleship in Jesus Christ. It's style is very interactive and engaging as it leads the reader/participant to greater awareness of self and knowledge of their faith and how to live it. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in evaluating their journey of faith.
