As someone from Hawaii and who enjoys the combination of crime noir and the supernatural qualities of the island and its culture, this series is quite enjoyable as it melds the two together, and it works into a very simple story for volume 2. However, it felt quite short (much like an 85 minute movie would) after all was said and done, and didnt quite explain the supernatural elements that occured within it. (I'll need to read it again to see if I missed it) The first volume did provide some exposition on the Night Marchers on the island, but the events happening here felt almost out of place. (That is, in tune with Hawaiian lore). Nontheless, I look forward to seeing a volume 3 soon and enjoy the fun and times of a developing island culture wrapped in mystery. The best part is that the authors have a lot of material to work from!
