Alfie is delighted to be invited to Bernard's birthday party, although he feels a bit nervous about going on his own. But Alfie has such a great time, that he finds he doesn't even need his special blanket--and he makes a new friend too!
Simple methods for us to be accountable for our own self care are in this book. Appears we spend so much time looking for someone or something else to heal or fix us, we tend to lose ourselves. Information contained in this book lets us know we can get reconnected with our spiritual self, and that to me is a great healing!
Permission to heal is a beautiful thing

When the word "Healer" comes to mind, what do you think of? A nurse, an old indian shaman, a doctor, a maricle worker? I got most of those myself. The prospect of spiritual healing was a bit out of my league, because of all the people in that field who made it sound so elaborate, complicated, and not to mention special! Each and every practitioner had a fairly high opinion of themselves and the power of the work they could do. A bit of a turn off, eh? Mary Ellen starts, and finnishes, by giving you permission to heal yourself! What a novel concept. Whether it's a bad habit you want to break, a negative mindset you don't want anymore, a destructive pattern you want out of, it doesn't matter. She is the only teacher i've ever encountered (and trust me i've done my homework) that gives you permission to do all of these things yourself! Very empowering. The techniques she teaches are simple, because they're designed as an introduction to the process, yet provide a solid foundation upon which to build. Like any other spiritual path, they require a desire, and belief, for them to work. It won't heal you against your will, or give you techniques that will 'convert' you because of their dramatic results. Something i've noticed as a theme throughout all of her books is she never claims to have the 'right' answer, only an answer, and that everyone is not only entitled, but encouraged, to seek their own truths. I've read all of her books, and you'll find i've enjoyed them all imensely, and i know i'm not the only one! I encourage anyone who's open and willing to healing themselves to give these books a try.
