I ordered this on Monday and received it by the end of the week. It had some highlighting throughout but it was in great condition, especially for the reasonable price.

This health book covers every major topic relating to health in a very easy to understand manner. It is very interesting and I felt that I learned a lot from it; even better, I will be able to actually remember what I read!

I thought this book was extremely informative and well written, I especially like how they worded it so the average layman could understand it in plain English. In my humble opinion we need more books like this thats why I gave it five stars. I've read all of the authors other books and I've always received them well, can't wait for the next one.
A good beginning for the study of health

I am studying to be a certified nutritionist and this is the textbook for my first class. I have found this book to be very thorough, yet consise and to the point. The information is pertinent and up-to-date. The authors take a holistic approach and the book covers diet, healthy lifestyle choices, emotional health and well being, as well as important information on body functions. It isn't overly technical (which is nice for a beginner) but provides enough detail. I recommend it as an introduction to learning about nutrition or health.

I came across this book as I re-entered the college classroom. I found it extremely easy to comprehend and very informative. There are also additional articles incorporated into the book itself, which makes for very interesting reading. This book covers anything from athletes, bulimia, children, alcohol, drugs, nutrition, the heart, intimate relationships, and the holistic view of health. There is something in this book for everyone, at one time or another. Being a non-traditional student as I re-entered college, I found I was much more interested in many of the courses I enrolled in. The health course I enrolled in not only made me more knowledgeable, but with this book in hand, I grew to know more about myself and what areas I needed to work on. There is a wonderful section on alcoholism. There is also a great section on life stresses and illness. I recommend this book for anyone looking to keep themselves in great physical condition.
