For the past twenty-three years of working as a Director of Facilities or Director of Plant Operations, how the titles do change in time. I have been very lucky to have acquired knowledge of the Joint Commission and the daily operations and compliance obligations for which I was responsible for. My thoughts and opinions have been formed by a wide area of situations during my career, and let's please forget the days and time beginning of March 2020 as covid hit us in our face. I am currently on a career break, for those of you who understand this, it means, I am currently unemployed due to integrity. There is only so much fishing someone can do residing by the Colorado river. This undertaking is being completed during my unemployed situation currently from employment in the health care field. So, I decided to write down my opinions and thoughts. Throughout my career path, I have been fortunate to collaborate with many mentors of varying calibers of management styles, ranging from exceptional to the dangerous extremes of mediocre. On the flip side, it is said to acquire knowledge from both extremes of the spectrum. During my employment at a certain hospital back east, a very effective CEO and having great transparent communication channel existed between the hospital staff and the attending physicians. The CEO effectively promoted cohesion among all staff members by hosting a weekly webcast that was accessible to the entire facility. This initiative deserves praise for its notable and very effective way to keep communication within the healthcare setting. I highly recommend this to all administrators to keep an open channel of communications throughout your facility.
