There are times when a Greek or Hebrew word has a distinct meaning that seriously affects the proper interpretation of Scripture. Unless you are familiar with these languages, you will not be able to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I enjoy this Bible the most of any I have owned or studied. It is a great tool during church and sunday school and bible studies because it is all compact into one book and the references to the lexical aids and concordance in back have provided insight many times already during group settings. I appreciate that there isn't a lot of commentary to get in the way just helpful keynotes and the lexcial/concordance reference numbers. Once you look at the front page on how to use the Bible it is simple to look words up and understand for someone that may not have a background in Greek or Hebrew.
Great study Bible!

When I say "Great study Bible!", I mean "study!" It has some study notes, but that is not what this Bible is about. This Bible makes it easier than ever to study the meaning of the original languages behind the translation. As the NASB is probably the most accurate translation available, now you have tools to dig even deeper. Almost every word in this Bible has its corresponding Strong's number next to it, and the Strong's information can be found in the back. You can also find Spiros Zidhiates' Hebrew and Greek definitions in the back by using the same Strong's numbers. If you are serious about Bible study, and not just to read other people's notes on passages, then this is the Bible you want.

This Bible gives the original Hebrew and Greek texts with definitions and pronunciations that every lay person can understand. As a pastor and radio Bible teacher, I use this Bible more than all other helps.
Get the NASB version--wish I would have

I agree--this is a great tool. I think the NASB translation, being the most literal, lends itself most aptly to this sort of thing. I love the NIV, but when you're doing Greek-Hebrew studies, it's better to have a literal translation. This is still a must-have Bible, unless you know Hebrew and Greek and can read it without help. :-)
