These Beginning Reader Stories are Sure to Delight
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
"Helping-Out Day? Hooray! is a beginning-reader book featuring three stories under the banner "Tales from Duckport." It features a group of kids that includes some ducks, a turtle, a goose and others. At school, their teacher tells them that it's "Helping-Out Day" --- a day to pitch in and do some good. She asks the kids for ideas and they have plenty. They eventually decide to help out a friend by fixing up her house, which appears to be messy. But what they don't realize at first is that she's a warthog, and she likes it a little messy. Working together, these kids come up with the perfect way to help. It's really all one story, but it's told in three parts. The stories are great for beginning readers and will definitely help kids learn to read. The illustrations match with the story well and have nice action and unique-looking characters.
