I just purchased this dictionary to help with some language related issues as I just moved to Montreal, and french is not my first language. As for the quality of the translations, who knows? I am not a linguist. I like: 1) The largish print, very easy to read and find items. 2) So far has all of the words I am looking for I don't like: 1) The title says this edition is 'Pocket'. DO NOT BE FOOLED! It measures 7.5 x 5.25...

I have taken French for the last sixteen years in school and therefore have also used a variety of French to English / English to French dictionaries. This is by far one of the best that I have seen. Not only does it contain over 90,000 words and phrases, it has sections on French culture, holidays, how to write proper letters, weights and measures, and numbers.
