On the Delta Shuttle between New York and Washington, Elise finds herself sitting next to Donald--tall, with dark wavy hair, a big easy smile. She's left the world of women's magazines in Manhattan... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I thought this book was a fun read. Sure, the main character is neurotic, but I liked her anyway . . . and who among us has never felt jealous about our significant other's former love? Okay, so maybe it's not "Wuthering Heights" -- it's still a pleasant way to spend an afternoon! I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen in this love triangle.

She is a fiance's exfiancee, a nemesis, and a nightmare to the protagonist, who drops back into his life right before his wedding. And she's obsessed with the return of her fiancé's ex. Her tells of Elise, who marries Donald unaware of his ex Adrienne - who can't let go. Comedy and drama entwine.
A Perfect Summer Book

Funny, funny, funny. Smart, smart, smart. This is the first book of Zigman's I've read and I loved it. I bought it at the airport and embarrassed myself on the plan I laughed so hard. Can't wait to read the first two.
I Liked It

Reading these other reviews and realizing they are a bit harsh, I feel the need to defend what I thought was a pretty good book. Yes, the storyline is a bit thin, however, the characters wonderfully three demensional and you can't help but like them. Is Elise neurotic and distrustful? Absolutely. But I think my fellow reviewers are focusing on the "feminism" aspect of the story instead of just taking it at face value. This is just a fun, quick read that basically takes one emotion we have all felt, jealousy, and turns it into a farce. My advice: Don't over analyze this book and take it as it is; a light, funny read.
HILARIOUS AND INTELLIGENT

I've read Zigman's first two books -- Animal Husbandy (scorchingly smart, hilarious and original first novel); Dating Big Bird (pitch-perfect, dead-on accurate book about women whose biological clock is nearing it's last tick) -- and now this one WHICH IS WITHOUT A DOUBT HER BEST. I expected it to be funny and intelligent, but I didn't expect it to be as deeply wise and moving as it is about how necessary a leap of faith is with the ones we choose to love. Zigman is a prophet of how men and women are with each other and how women are with other women. I just loved it.
