Murder at Magnolia College A young woman's skeleton was found buried on the campus grounds. Contractor Trevor Whittaker couldn't get the cold-case murder out of his mind. Who was the woman? Why was she killed? And did his lovely boss's father, a wealthy, secretive benefactor of the college, have anything to do with it? Family and friends warned Alumni Director Stephanie Kessler to stay away from her new employee. They said Trevor was still the same bad boy he'd been ten years ago, but Stephanie wasn't the same mousy girl. So, this time, they both had something to prove.
Secrets can be deadly.... Stephanie "Steff" Kessler never thought that her office remodeling project would cause such problems. She has hired Trevor Whittaker to handle the work. Trevor and Steff were friends in college despite their very different backgrounds. While Steff is a rich upper society girl who insists on working for a living when she doesn't have to, Trevor is a former bad boy who believes in the value of hard work. Trevor is working on a bookcase for Steff's office when something is found, something that attracts the attention of people who want it to stay hidden. Who is behind all of these strange incidents? And will Steff and Trevor defy the odds and fall in love despite their very different backgrounds? HIDDEN IN THE WALL is the first book in the Reunion Revelations series. For those who like all of the loose ends tidied up in one book, take note that HIDDEN IN THE WALL does leave some issues dangling for resolution (I assume) in the upcoming books. The setting for this continuity series is ideal, as Magnolia College promises to be a hotbed of intrigue. Colleges tend to provide a perfect backdrop for mysterious stories and I could easily envision some spooky moments in the basement during HIDDEN IN THE WALL! Valerie Hansen doesn't go overboard with this however, as there is just enough suspense to make it interesting without bordering on the downright creepy. Steff is a likeable character, although I admit I have a tough time relating to wealthy characters. It's just not a theme I tend to gravitate towards in books but Valerie Hansen makes it work. Perhaps it is Steff's determination to make her own way regardless of her family name and money that makes her seem so down to earth. Regardless, her spiritual journey in HIDDEN IN THE WALL is well done. I will definitely be reading the next book in the Reunion Revelations series! COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUES
