The story of Wolf of Foix, who idealistically seeks a better world, this describes the knights and troubadors and courts of love in the lushness of Southern France culminating with the 13th century... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Im writing this largely to urge publisher to reprint the entire series...Closs is wonderful at historically revivifying a long dead culture and surely if one book has been reprinted it is nothing but cruelly frustrating to readers not to reprint the rest!
A POWERFUL AND MOVING NOVEL OF A DOOMED ERA
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
The first novel of The Tarn Trilogy. The time is the Dark Ages. A small population of Pagan scholars are threatened by the unstoppable horrors of approaching Christian crusaders bent on erradicating all heretics. Ancient knowledge is threatened and a way of life is on the brink. A brilliant and moving beginning to an impressive trilogy of a tragic time. A work of great mystical power. Presently out of print and difficult to obtain, but a great and moving work. The Tarn Trilogy Vol I. - High Are the Mountains. Vol II. - Deep Are the Valleys. Vol III. - The Silent Tarn.
