Large size 8 X 10 Paperback Book - Joseph Hanson son of John Hanson (1616-1660) and Maria (c1622- ) of England, was born in 1655 in Stainland, near Huddersfield, Elland Township, Halifax Parish, Yorkshire, England, and immigrated to the British Colonies and settled at the head of Potomack Creek in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia. In the Wills of Isle of Wight County, Virginia is found the last will and testament of Edward Rogers in which is noted on page 34, "Leg. - Anne Mathews, John Moore and James Bacon to whom I give 900 acres in Stafford County at the head of Potomacke Creek on which Joseph Henson lives, also all property in Isle of Wight County".
